UK Fashion Week |
Fashion is meant to be fun. Sometimes I notice others in the fashion world taking everything so seriously. That has never been my stance and I try to catch myself before I feel wound up over something that I have fallen in love with, mainly because of its playful nature. When it comes to accessories, my stance is even stronger.
Be daring, be bold, pick an accessory that is out of your comfort zone to give that perfect touch to your outfit. And this is where Thursday Friday comes in. The company was launched with the idea of bringing fashion to canvas bags. Their Together Bag is available in either a red, camel, or blue print of a Hermes Birkin on the canvas tote. Yes, A Hermes Birkin print.
Just like the Birkin once had a wait list, so does the Thursday Friday Together Bag. In fact, the company is taking orders for March shipment right now.
Many are embracing this bag with open arms as they are loving the concept. Do you love it too? Order via ThuFri.com.
ON DEVELOPING THE CONCEPT FOR THURSDAY FRIDAY
We (Roni and Olena) are both pretty obsessed with fashion as well as the ideas of luxury and iconography. We love beautiful, well-crafted objects and are disgusted by fashion abusers who buy luxury goods to flaunt brands. And we wanted to go into business together ever since we met in Stockholm.
We have similar idiosyncratic habits like particular driving shoes and a specific sunscreen obsession. When we noticed that we were both using canvas grocery totes for errands, we had to look at this habit a little further. We realized that we were using these shopping bags as proxy accessories — an extra bag to supplement our ‘real’ bags — and wanted to take them another step, to have the bag itself declare what’s going on. So we ended up with a surreal design that references luxury but is ultimately an anti-status status symbol.
