Louis says: Doomsday Prophecies (23 May 2011)

Recently, a lot of prophecies about doomsday have appeared. Some say it will be in the near future, while others predict the exact year, month and day. Many people regard it as a joke. Of course there are some who are convinced and prepare for it, then feel let down when the prophecy does not happen.

I think we can make the prophecies about doomsday a positive thing. If the world were about to come to an end and there was not much time left, how would you spend your time? Everyone always has some unfulfilled wishes. Would you sieze the last chance to complete them? Express the love in your heart or apologize for things once said or done to your family and loved ones? Forgive the people who have hurt you? What would you do?

Louis says: A Brand New Story (17 May 2011)

"Overheard 2" is now in post-production and I think you will be able to see it very soon. I personally am also looking forward to seeing it!

I still remember when the name "Overheard 2" was released. It triggered a lot of speculation. Many people were wondering if it would be a sequel or prequel. In fact, although there are "2" "Overheard" movies, this is a brand new story, with the same actors who starred in the previous movie. Lau Ching Wan, Daniel Wu and I, are all performing a new role. I am looking forward to bringing you a fresh, new feeling and hope everyone of my fans will give me continued support!

Louis says: Temperatures (15 May 2011)

The weather has been volatile in Hong Kong these past few days. Sometimes it is hot with bright sunshine and other times it will suddently begin to rain, which can come as a big surprise to people on the streets. What's more, powerful air-conditioners are running, so it is easy to get sick.

I recall that the government has been asking that indoor temperature be kept at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit) when using air-conditioning, which many offices and shopping malls have been executing. However, now when entering these places, I feel rather cold, as if it hasn't reached 25 degrees Celsius. We absolutely need to pay attention to this and make good use of the resources of our planet.

About Louis Koo:

Louis Koo (born 21 October 1970) is a Hong Kong actor. He was once a notable local television series actor, winning TVB's Best Actor award in 1999 for Detective Investigation Files IV. In recent years, he has focused on film. Koohas become one of the more famous actors of the Hong Kong film industry, and a spokesman for Pepsi, Osim, Tag Heuer, Lotte, Zero Eyewear, Lay's, and other Chinese products.

Before entering showbiz, Koo spent 22 months in jail for robbery. Koo did not have a proper education and decided to enter showbiz afterwards. Koo began his career as a fashion model and a karaoke MTV actor before becoming a contract artist with TVB in 1993. Since then he has starred in many television dramas and commercials which raised his popularity to new heights in recent years. Ever since he changed his image by getting an extreme tan (which he is well known for), his career gained a huge boost. His distinctive style has captivated audiences of all ages. In 1999, Koo was honoured with TVB's Most Popular Male Artist Award for Detective Investigation Files IV. In 2001, Koo was given the award once again for A Step into the Past and also the Most Stylish Personality Award and Men of Power 2001.

From the cool, aloof character that he had always been cast, he took a different character in A Step Into the Past. This deviation from the cool and aloof character to a funnier, carefree and down-to-earth one opened his career to an extensive list of romantic comedy movies that now have a distinctive Louis Koo element. His silent and sincere attitude, and his devotion to his family, makes his characters more convincing, and thus earns him a wide range of fan base. He further sang a couple of theme song for the television series that he played in. Besides that, he also has various other songs. A notable one is the album "Mr.Cool". The 2007 film, Happy Birthday, introduced a sensitive character portrayed by Koo. What sets this movie apart from his other romantic movies is the serious tone between dialogues. This is another first in Koo's film career, that is to portray a sensitive man sans the comical gestures he has always done in past romantic comedies.

His most recent screen character as a drug addict in Protégé transcended from his usual charm and wit performances, as he attempted to forego his hunky image. Little screen time did not stop him to successfully achieve this role, and thus earned him positive feedback tucked under his belt.

Koo later received international acclaim for his performance in Election 2 (aka Triad Election), which was screened during the Out of Competition section at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.

He won the award for Most Beloved Actor in the Hong Kong UA Film Awards 2006 through public voting for his role in Election 2.
